In the fall of 2006, as freshmen at North Carolina Central University, fate brought us together on the historic sloping hills and verdant green of NCCU’s campus. What started as casual conversations between classes quickly turned into late-night talks, campus strolls, and an unshakable bond. From cheering at football games to studying in the library, our love grew in the heart of Eagle Nation, shaped by the spirit of ambition, resilience, and community that NCCU instilled in us. What began as a college romance blossomed into a lifelong partnership, proving that some of the best love stories start right on the yard.
From Eagle freshmen to building an empire together, our love story is straight out of an NCCU fairytale. Thirteen years of marriage, three beautiful kids, and a whole lineup of thriving businesses—1910 Wine Nest, Shahbain Farms, Plan It Wright Events, and 1910 Village—are all proof that Eagle Excellence runs deep in our household. What started with campus walks and late-night study sessions has turned into a legacy of love, hustle, and Black excellence. NCCU didn’t just bring us together—it set the foundation for everything we’ve built. And just like our alma mater, we’re still rising, still soaring, and still repping Eagle Pride, amplified! 🦅
